I learned quickly Veeam 6.1 was not supported.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve inherited Veeam as our virtualization backup solution. After all, its automated, has deduplication, compression, reporting and can make archives(Veeamzip). What more could I ask for?<\/p>\n<p>After upgrading Veeam kept throwing errors &#8211;\u00a0Backup console is not compatible with proxy &#8216;&lt;servername&gt;&#8217;. Backup server version: &#8216;6.1.0.181&#8217;.\u00a0Job has failed. See logs for details.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postinger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-03_0843.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-242\" title=\"2012-10-03_0843\" src=\"https:\/\/www.postinger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-03_0843-300x200.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From what I read on the Veeam forums, the fix will be released in Veeam 6.5. Which isn&#8217;t\u00a0available\u00a0yet. \u00a0But I found a workaround, not the best solution, but seems to work okay.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove your vCenter server from Veeam<\/li>\n<li>update to the latest Veeam 6.1 patch<\/li>\n<li>add in each host, NOT the vCenter server<\/li>\n<li>Adjust backup jobs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Again, probably not the best solution as Veeam is no longer vMotion &#8216;aware&#8217; but it appears to run\/complete backups again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I upgraded my non-critical hosts to vCenter\/ESXi 5.1.
